Twilight Over Africa

This darkness is too much, It’s making me feel lost,
I keep searching, And you I can’t find,
There’s only a silhouette dancing near me,
It runs away when I try to touch it…

I long to see your face under the graceful moonlight,
And when the innocent sun rises high from beyond the hills,
I long to see your deep eyes before I close mine
And sink into the oblivion that sleep is.
I wish to hear the gentle expressions of your voice
Waking me up from sleep,
I want to savour the touch of your soft hands
As I hold the beauty of the day…

I don’t know what will I find when I see your face,
I don’t know what I feel thereafter,
Will your eyes spark more when they hold mine?
Will your lips long to kiss mine when you turn around?
Will your arms embrace me?

For your love, Santa,
I’d lay down and surrender my heart to you,
Please, turn around,
Let me see if your eyes twinkle like the lights on the Christmas tree,
Let me see if your dimples merry like this happy season,
Let me show you these rosy cheeks of mine and my lips drawn as a lover’s bow,
Show me your face, Santa…
